Acceptable Use Policy
Rules and restrictions for the safe and ethical use of CloudBT services.
1. General Principles
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to all customers, end users and resellers using CloudBT infrastructure.
Every person and organization using CloudBT services is deemed to have read and accepted this policy. Violations may result in account suspension or termination.
Our goal is to provide a secure, fast and stable infrastructure for all customers; behaviour that negatively affects other users or systems is therefore not accepted.
This document is an English translation provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Turkish version published at cloudbt.com prevails.
2. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited on CloudBT infrastructure:
- Hosting, distributing or publishing illegal content
- Spam, unsolicited bulk email or phishing
- Hosting or distributing malicious software (malware, ransomware, trojans)
- Launching or participating in DDoS attacks
- Cryptocurrency mining (unless explicitly permitted)
- Copyright infringement, distribution of pirated software
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Attempts to gain unauthorized access to third-party systems
- Port scanning, network reconnaissance or vulnerability scanning (other than your own server)
- Using proxy or VPN services to conceal illegal activity
3. Resource Usage
Fair use principles apply to shared infrastructure services:
- CPU: sustained usage above 90% is not accepted on shared plans
- Bandwidth: monthly traffic limits are stated in the plan details
- Disk I/O: a warning is issued if excessive I/O load affecting other users is detected
- Processes: resource-consuming processes such as fork bombs or infinite loops are terminated automatically
In Virtual Data Center projects resources are limited by the plan quota; the other provisions of this policy apply to effects on the network.
4. Network Security
The following rules apply to network security:
- IP spoofing is strictly prohibited
- Monitoring network traffic (sniffing) is allowed only on your own server
- Running open DNS resolvers or open SMTP relays is prohibited
- IPs are blocked automatically when brute-force attacks are detected
- Outbound port 25 (SMTP) is closed by default; contact the support team for legitimate use
5. Email Policy
For sending email from CloudBT servers:
- Explicit recipient consent (opt-in) is mandatory
- Every email must contain an unsubscribe link
- Hourly and daily sending limits must be respected
- SPF, DKIM and DMARC records must be configured
- The bounce rate must not exceed 5% and the complaint rate must not exceed 0.1%
- Bulk email sending requires prior approval
6. Violations and Sanctions
When a policy violation is detected, the following sanctions may be applied:
- First violation: written warning and a request to remedy within 24 hours
- Second violation: temporary suspension of the service
- Third or serious violations: permanent termination of the account
For serious violations (illegal content, DDoS, CSAM) the account is terminated immediately and the relevant authorities are notified.
CloudBT reserves the right to suspend the service without prior notice in case of a violation.
7. Reporting Abuse
To report abuse:
- Email: [email protected]
Complaints from third parties are evaluated within 24 hours. All reports are kept confidential.
